WHY CHOOSE US
DANCE CLASSES WE OFFER
Our Studio Lines are the perfect fit for dancers who want to learn all things dance and get out on stage and perform for an audience. These classes cater to all ages, 2.5 – 18 years old. Each class meets once a week for 8 months (September – April), for 30 – 60 minutes, working on skills in tap, jazz or contemporary/lyrical, and ballet. Our Studio Line dancers then have the opportunity to perform at our Annual Spring Recital. These classes are the ideal class for anyone that simply loves to dance!
Our Company Lines (competition) are geared towards dancers who not only love to dance, but also want to be pushed to learn many different styles, train multiple hours a week, and travel to compete against other dancers around the mid-west. These classes meet August 2022 – April 2023, training several hours a week in tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and ballet/pointe. Our Company Line dancers also have the opportunity to perform in our Annual Spring Recital.
Whitney Massee - Director
Whitney Massee grew up in Brainerd, MN as a competitive dancer at Music General. While attending Music General she took classes in tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet and pointe. She had the opportunity over her 15 years of dancing at MG to take classes from Michael Minery, Jen Silvas, Jeremy Keeton, and Joe Istre.
She went to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. During college she began teaching recreational and some competitive classes at Dance Studio Elite in Fargo, North Dakota. After settling down with her husband in Appleton, MN she found a place to share her love of dance. She has been teaching and directing Valley Dance District for nearly 10 years and was recently awarded the Coaches Award at Move Dance Competition in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Whitney is a kindergarten teacher by day and dance teacher by night. She is thrilled to dance and teach so many young dancers within the small communities in western Minnesota.
